GASTRONOMY

Bibione is the ideal destination for the gourmets fond of genuine food and delicate or full-bodied wines.

White Asparagus

Thanks to its sandy soil, the typical product of the territory of Bibione is the white asparagus, with its characteristic light taste and many nutritive properties, and whose savour is extolled when served with scrambled or hard-boiled eggs. Every April, a Special Fair is dedicated to the white asparagus. In the many stands set up for this occasion, you will have the chance to taste it and to buy it as well.
Besides the asparagus, in this area the rice is also cultivated. In spite of its modest production, this rice is of a very high quality and it is perfect when cooked with fish in order to prepare tasty risotti with sea food.
Fresh fish, giltheads, sea basses, squids, sardines, freshwater cryfishes, they are just some of the many specialities you can have in the restaurants of Bibione.
Apart from the fish, in Bibione you can also savour meat - strictly controlled - with polenta (a sort of corn-meal mush) the Venetian traditional dish, served directly from the pot or in grilled slices.

D.O.C. wines

Your meal will be completed by the best D.O.C. wines of Lison-Pramaggiore, the locality known for its vine-growing and wine-production. Make yourself a gift and savour the fresh tasted Pinot Grigio, or the herbaceous fragrance of Cabernet Franc or the bouquet of Chardonnay.
The connaisseurs of wine should not miss Septemberfest, the traditional fair of grapes and wines, organised in Bibione every September, as the fair's name itself may suggest.
Not to forget the Venetian grappa everywhere appreciated for its digestive properties.

While on holiday, take the chance to discover the typical products of Bibione. You will be won by their freshness and genuineness. And, if you buy them, you will also have the chance to take the savours of summer home.
